Our Club caters for many classes of model car racing, from beginners to the more experienced racer. If you have just purchased or have been playing around with a radio controlled car than why not try your hand at racing. Our aim is for you to have fun while racing against other cars the same as your own. Bring your car to the track, you won’t be disappointed.

Novice
For children and beginners who have very little experience and just want to have fun. We encourage beginners of all ages to our great hobby. The club has purchased a couple of club cars for new starters to come and try before they go and outlay their own money or Mum and Dad’s money in some cases.

Vintage Trans Am (VTA)

Minimum 1450 grams ready to run including transponder.
- Two-wheel drive to front or rear wheels or four-wheel drive is allowed. Chassis must have independent suspension on all four wheels. Each driven wheel must have a flexible joint, eg: dog bone/s or universal joint/s in its driveshaft. Drive train and suspension design is free from restriction. Flat Pan (1/12th and 1/10th Track Style) chassis are not allowed. The Chassis must not be shaped to gain an aerodynamic advantage. In principle the underside of the chassis must be flat and parallel to the ground along the entire length of the body shell. Aerodynamic shaped parts (splitters/diffusers/tunnels/etc) may not be fitted to the chassis.
- Any ROAR or BRCA approved motor. All brushless motors for the Stock class will be wind rating of 21.5 turns, clearly indicated by the manufacture on the external casing.
- Speed Controllers as per ROAR BRCA list. Speed controllers eligible for Stock classes must provide zero timing advance, along with disabling advanced motor control functions (i.e. Boost, Cheat Mode, Turbo, etc). Bodies
- Any pre 1990 model, 2 door or 4 door road / race car. Deck lids and spoilers that come outwith the car are allowed. No additional skirts, raised/extended wings or air-controlled surfaces are permitted. Body must be trimmed to trim lines. Full rear bumpers required. If unsure check before racing. Bodies considered outside the spirit of the sport can be excluded without notice.
Tyres
- HPI tyre part No #4793 (Front) and #4797 (rear), using stock tyre insert provided with the tyre. Any HPI wheels designed to fit these tyres.
- Protoform tyre #PRM1014017 (white Front), PRM1013917 (White Rear), PRM1014018 (Black Front), PRM1013918(Black Rear) pre mounted

- Wheels and tyres designated as “Front” must be used as front tyres/wheels, “Rear”wheels/tyres must be used as rears
- Some tyre tread must be visible. Grinding of tyre is not permitted. Tyre traction compounds and tyre warmers are not permitted, No altering, changing or softening of tyre is allowed.
1/8 GTE
Minimum weight is 3500 grams. The weight will be checked with battery/batteries, body and a transponder installed.

6s Systems are NOT to use any boost or turbo functions
LI-POLY (LITHIUM POLYMER) BATTERIES to a maximum of 6S, capacity open. Batteries must
be factory sealed in a hard case. No soft cased batteries allowed, for primary battery source.
- Bodies are to be any commercially available 1/8th scale GT1, GT2, Super GT, DTM, or V8.Supercar cars. Prototype (LM) P1, (LM) P2 and open cockpit bodies are NOT allowed. Wedge shape bodies are NOT allowed. For the definition of a wedge a body will be considered a wedge and therefore illegal if it includes an integrated wing which is equal to or greater than height than the roof line of the car. Body shells with a small kick up at the rear are legal for the purpose of the class (for example Serpent McLaren body).
- All cars must have operating brake(s) capable of stopping the car.
- Shaft-drive systems with front and rear differentials is required. Belt driven cars are not permitted.
- Single speed transmission only and must include a solidly mounted spur gear to a standard bevel gear centre differential or a solid spool (no one-way bearing). No other differential types will be permitted.
- One-ways, spools, locking “Torsion-type,” or externally adjustable differentials are NOT permitted. Differentials can only be tuned with the use of silicone-based oils.

Front and Rear differential gear ratios must be identical. Front or rear underdrive or overdrive is NOT permitted.
- Any commercially available rubber tyre and insert GT8 or 1/8 Scale on road designed wheel and tyre is allowed. Full slick or tread pattern allowed.

Tyres must be black, except for writing on sidewalls.
- Wheels must use a 17mm hex hub consistent with the dimensions and function of the hubs used in 1/8 offroad racing. The wheel must be affixed by a 17mm wheel nut, threaded on to the hex hub. Quick change mechanisms are NOT permitted.

Tyre Warmers and Traction Compounds are permitted.

Fans which must be powered from the main battery packs
- The use of traction control devices, active suspension devices and any steering control aided by gyroscopes/’G’-force sensors is strictly forbidden. Exemption may be granted for drivers with physical disabilities. This includes Spektrum and Traxxas Receivers with Stability Control unless those functions are specifically disabled.

- Kit ESC (TBLE-02S or TBLE-04S) or aftermarket 60 amp brushed ESCs (eg: Hobbywing Quicrun 30120201, Yeah Racing Tritronic ESC1060WP). ESC wires may be connected direct to motor. Reverse disabled on ESC.
- The kit MUST be built exactly per the instruction manual.
- The ONLY Hop-Op Option permitted is Ball Bearings any type/brand, Alloy prop shaft set #54026, Alloy Prop Shaft part #53620

Battery connector may be changed to DEANS.
- Kit 19 tooth pinion can be replaced with an aftermarket 19 tooth 0.6 pitch pinion (eg: Yeah Racing MG-06P19T, Robinson Racing RW0619). Kit 61 tooth spur gear can be replaced with aftermarket 61 tooth 0.6 pitch spur gear (eg: 3 racing TT01-28)
